Victor Osimhen Eyes October 9th Date For His Return To Action From Injury

Galatasaray of Turkey striker Victor Osimhen is eyeing a return to action next Friday, October 9th, following another bout with injury, which ruled him out of the international break, as Nigeria beat Madagascar 2-1 and lost 3-0 to Guinea-Bissau.

Sports247 gathered that Galatasaray have struggled in Osimhen’s absence, as the 27-year-old hitman has been out of action since suffering an injury during his team’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir in a Turkish Super Lig game on September 4th.

Osimhen was forced off in the first half, moments after opening scoring with his sixth league goal of the campaign, and the injury, which was later diagnosed as a right adductor muscle problem, made him miss Galatasaray’s last three fixtures.

The Turkish champions have struggled in his absence, winning just once and losing twice, including a heavy 4-0 defeat by Trabzonspor in their final game before the three-week break, but Turkish newspaper Sabah disclosed that he will soon be ready to play.

The publication added that Osimhen’s rehabilitation is progressing well and he remains on schedule, with the former Lille Metropole of France and SSC Napoli of Italy star expected to resume individual training before the end of this week as he steps up his recovery.

The report adds that Osimhen, who earlier played for VfL Wolfsburg of Germany and Sporting Charleroi of Belgium, is targeting a return for Gala’s Super Lig tie with Kasımpaşa, which would boost his chances for the UEFA Champions League home clash against Barcelona.
