Nigeria’s Flamingos have moved to the brink of winning the 2026 WAFU-B U17 Girls Cup after maintaining a perfect record through their first four matches of the competition in Côte d’Ivoire.
Sports247 reports that the Nigerian side currently leads the standings with 12 points, having won all four matches played so far. The Flamingos have also produced an impressive attacking record, scoring 13 goals while conceding just two.
Nigeria opened its campaign with a commanding 5–0 victory over Niger before producing one of the results of the tournament so far with a 4–2 win over Ghana.
The winning run continued against Burkina Faso, with the Flamingos recording a 2–0 victory, before they secured another clean-sheet win against Côte d’Ivoire, defeating the hosts 2–0.
Their four-match record now stands at four wins, no draws and no defeats, leaving Nigeria at the summit ahead of the final round of fixtures.
Ghana occupy second position with nine points, while Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso have six points each. Togo have three points, with Niger still searching for their first point of the competition.
With one match remaining, the Flamingos know exactly what is required to secure the championship. A win or draw against Togo will be enough to crown Nigeria champions.
The final fixture is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026, with the Flamingos facing Togo at the INPHB Stadium in Yamoussoukro. Kick-off is scheduled for 10:00am WAT.
