Pumah Football Academy of Akowonjo, Lagos, has intensified preparations for its upcoming competition, with player weight checks taking centre stage as the young footballers get set for the challenge ahead.
Speaking in an interview with Sporto247, the Director of Pumah Football Academy, Timilehim Ahmed, explained the importance of the weight checks, noting that the competition has specific weight requirements that every participating player must meet.
The academy’s coaching and management team carried out weight screening among the players as part of their preparations, ensuring that those selected fall within the required weight category.
According to Ahmed, the competition requires players to undergo weight scanning, with the stipulated weight range set at below 35kg. He stressed that every player must meet the requirement before being cleared to participate.
The weight checks form part of the academy’s wider preparation as the young talents continue to combine football training with discipline, fitness and adherence to competition regulations.
With the competition drawing closer, Pumah Football Academy is leaving no stone unturned as the players continue to train and prepare physically and mentally for the challenge ahead.
