An enterprising youngster at Rocket FC of Orlu in Imo State, Sixtus Chinemerem Afoaku has declared that he and his colleagues want to remain unbeaten in all their remaining matches this year.
Sports247 reports that the student of Township Comprehensive Secondary School, Amaifeke (TCSSA) gave the verdict after his side’s 1-0 victory over Ikpa FC during a friendly match on Saturday.
A goal by captain of the side, Chimuanya Dike gave Coach Victor Nwokeji’s team victory in the game played at Onummiri, much to the delight of everyone in the squad, whose goalkeeper, Chibuzor Eze was in top form.
Also with an outstanding performance in the game was the club’s top striker, Dam Aluko, who tormented the opponents’ defence all through the duration of the encounter, while Afoaku added his excellence as well.
Afoaku stated afterwards that he was personally excited with the victory, which he dedicated to his family for always supporting him in his football development, then pledged to continue giving his very best to help the team keep on winning.
“Our coach’s remark after was that it was a fantastic game; but he also said we need to improve our teamwork, so that we can continue being unbeaten in all our matches.
“I also personally want to help the team to continue moving forward and for us to achieve our goal, which is always about winning. I want to continue winning for my fans and family.
“I appreciate the support that they are giving me and I always try to do my best to ensure that the team keeps winning so that I will bring pride and honour to my family,” Afoaku submitted.
