A young tactician fondly called ‘Coach Martinez,’ Tolulope Matthew is showing a great example for others to follow in youth development at Seamoriow Football Academy of Ikotun, Lagos, Sports247 reports.

The youthful tactician has effectively and almost flawlessly mobilised an almost cosmopolitan squad, with players drawn from various far-flung locations, blended into a compact team that keeps on winning very tough matches home and away.
This past Sunday, ‘Coach Martinez’ again rallied his players to a stunning 5-1 demolition of Arewa Football Academy, from Temidire Field in Ile-Epo area of Iyana Ipaja, and his team retained top spot in a competition sponsored by their owner at an arena formerly known as Islamic Playground, Ikotun.
It was edition number five of the competition tagged Seamoriow U15 League Championship, and the host’s team pulled off a similar feat that was first achieved last year when they defeated Bee United of Ajegunle 5-1 in the final at same venue.
This time out, a hat trick by Samuel Achibong (aka Alvarez) was followed by one goal each from Dele Daniel and Gbolahan Kehinde to put a huge smile on the face of ‘Coach Martinez,’ as his team lifted the trophy and won the star prize of N2m at stake.
Those five goals during Sunday’s final took the total haul for Seamoriow to 18 overall, while conceding only four, as they put on a solid performance to justify how the academy’s proprietor embarked on a scouting mission to pick players from various areas of Lagos and other states to build a crack team.
Among the players who were picked from outside Lagos is Achibong, who was spotted during a scouting mission to Akwa Ibom State capital, Uyo in November 2025, after which he was officially enrolled among the lads who are camped for free and fed three times a day at the arena now officially known as Seamoriow Sports Complex, Ikotun.
Aside the goal scorers, ‘Coach Martinez’ also gave kudos to Samuel Okon for his efforts in defence and Lagos State invitee, Joseph Oloko for dazzling in midfield, while his shot-stopper, Monday Austin Peter emerged as best goalkeeper and most valuable player of the competition.
Sports247 gathered that the next focus for Seamoriow FA will be on the senior squad, as ‘Coach Martinez’ starts working on his newest array of stars who he hopes will follow suit with the under-15 team to reign on top of all their opponents in this season’s Nationwide League One (NLO) fixtures.
