Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan finished fourth in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Final in Brussels, clocking 12.54 seconds in a fiercely contested race.
Amusan, the world record holder in the event, was unable to secure a podium finish as American Masai Russell produced a dominant display to claim victory in impressive fashion, Sports247 gathered.
Russell stormed to the title in 12.20 seconds, comfortably finishing ahead of her training partners Devyne Charlton and Megan Simmonds.
Charlton crossed the line second in 12.33 seconds, while Simmonds completed the podium in 12.43 seconds.
Amusan’s 12.54-second performance saw her narrowly miss out on the medals, finishing fourth as the leading trio established a clear gap at the front.
Sports247 reports that the Brussels final brought together some of the world’s best hurdlers, with Russell ultimately emerging as the standout performer after a commanding run.
For Amusan, the fourth-place finish adds another chapter to a season in which she has continued to compete among the global elite in the 100m hurdles.
Russell’s victory also highlighted the strength of her training group, with all three podium finishers—Russell, Charlton and Simmonds—coming from the same training environment.
