Folarin Balogun Receives €18m Offer From Everton, Following Botched Interest From Tottenham Hotspur

AS Monaco of France striker Folarin Balogun appears set to gain an instant revival in his aspirations for a summer transfer to England, as Everton have forwarded a formal bid of €18m for his transfer before the window closes on Tuesday.

Sports247 reports that the offer from Everton reopens hope for a switch to the English Premier League for Balogun, following a botched opening that initially came his way at Tottenham Hotspur, who appeared keen on hooking his signature.

However, while Spurs pulled out after the arrival of a number of fresh attacking options this month, Balogun will hope to see a move to Goodison Park come through, following reports that Everton have stepped up their interest by submitting a formal bid to Monaco.

With the summer transfer window entering its final stages, time is running out for Balogun, but the Nigerian-born United States international is eager to pull off a move to Merseyside, with The Toffees’ coach, David Moyes, also apparently keen on having him strengthen his attack.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri added: “The Toffees have submitted an €18m proposal to Monaco and are pushing to secure the forward’s signature. Everton are working with increased urgency to complete the deal before the deadline.

“Balogun is now emerging as a key recruitment target. The 25-year-old has previously been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but their recent attacking additions appear to have reduced the likelihood of a move to North London.”
