‘I Am Very Excited,’ Rofiat Imuran Declares After Sealing Move To Aston Villa From London City Lionesses

New signing at Aston Villa Women FC of England, Rofiat Adenike Imuran has disclosed her emotions after sealing a summer transfer from London City Lionesses, as the Super Falcons’ defender declared emphatically that she is excited about the switch.

Sports247 reports that Imuran made her feelings known after Aston Villa came out with an official statement to confirm their deal for the 22-year-old left-back, who becomes the club’s ninth new arrival, as coach of the side, Natalia Arroyo continues strengthening her squad.

It is another massive step forward for Imuran, who first signed for Stade Reims of France in October 2022 on a two-year contract, then made 30 league appearances and scored eight goals for the club, from where she moved to London City Lionesses in 2024.

At international level, Imuran has represented Nigeria at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the experience of which is expected to aid her progress during her days at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.

“I’m very excited to be here, and I want to achieve a lot of things. It’s a big club with a lot of history. It has big ambitions, and I want to be part of it,” said Imuran, who is now eagerly looking forward to competing regularly in England’s Women’s Super League (WSL).
