Young Nigerian heritage attacker Stephen Araoye is continuing to attract attention in Canada with a standout season for Cambridge United, producing an impressive goalscoring record while keeping his sights firmly set on representing Nigeria.
The versatile forward has been one of the exciting young attacking talents in his environment, using his pace, creativity and finishing ability to cause problems for defenders.
Araoye’s versatility is another major strength. Comfortable operating from either flank or through the centre, the youngster can move across the frontline and create opportunities from different positions.

But beyond the goals and individual performances, the youngster has a bigger ambition—one that is closely connected to his Nigerian roots.
Araoye dreams of wearing the green and white of Nigeria and progressing through the country’s youth national teams, starting with the Golden Eaglets, moving to the Flying Eagles, and eventually earning a place with the Super Eagles.
Speaking about his ambition, Araoye said.
“Representing Nigeria is a dream that means a lot to me and my family. I know there is still a long way to go, so my focus is to keep improving, work hard and take every opportunity that comes my way.
“Hopefully, one day I will have the chance to wear the Nigerian jersey and make my country proud.”
His current form provides an encouraging foundation for that ambition, but Araoye knows that the journey to international football requires consistency, discipline and continued development.
For now, the young attacker remains focused on improving his game and making the most of every opportunity in Canada and beyond.
