Nigeria U-20 striker Abdulmuiz Adeleke has insisted that winning the WAFU B U-20 Championship with the Flying Eagles remains his top priority, despite currently leading the tournament’s goal-scoring chart.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference ahead of Nigeria’s crucial clash against Burkina Faso, the in-form forward made it clear that personal accolades, including the Golden Boot award, are secondary to the team’s objective of lifting the trophy and securing qualification for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Reflecting on the growing support he has received from Nigerian fans, the striker admitted that the atmosphere has been a major source of motivation.
“It was nice playing with the crowd chanting my name. I feel excited. But I’m just starting, and I feel more motivated,” Adeleke said.
Despite his excellent goal-scoring form, the young forward revealed that he has not set any individual target for the tournament.
“I didn’t actually think about how many goals I want to score. I need to help my team qualify for the Nations Cup, and scoring is just my role as a striker.”

“It’s not that easy, but I promise to always deliver,” he added.
