Sports247 reports that from match-winning goals to defensive heroics and game-changing performances, six players have been nominated for the Matchday 2 Top Performer of the Week award.

Leading the shortlist is Chioma Moses of Edo Queens. The forward delivered a clinical performance in her side’s emphatic 4-1 victory over FC Robo Queens, scoring twice in the first half to set the foundation for a crucial win that reignited Edo Queens’ title challenge.

Also nominated is Winner David of Abia Angels. Her decisive header secured a historic first-ever Super Six victory for Abia Angela as they stunned tournament hosts Rivers Angels with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph.

Abia Angels defender Onyedikachi Ekezie also earned recognition following a commanding defensive display. The centre-back marshalled the backline superbly and played a pivotal role in keeping Rivers Angels at bay throughout the encounter.

Completing Abia Angels’ strong representation among the nominees is goalkeeper Fatimah Oloko. Facing her former club, she produced a series of crucial saves and preserved a valuable clean sheet to help secure one of the biggest results of the round.

For league leaders Nasarawa Amazons, Ayatsea Hembafan makes the shortlist after scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Bayelsa Queens. Her late strike completed a remarkable comeback and maintained the Amazons’ perfect start to the Super Six.

Rounding off the nominees is Precious Oscar of Edo Queens. Introduced from the bench, she made an immediate impact by finding the net and helping her side secure a convincing victory over FC Robo Queens.

With goals, clean sheets, leadership, and match-winning contributions all represented, fans face a difficult choice in deciding who deserves the Matchday 2 Top Performer crown.

The nominees have each played a key role in shaping an exciting and unpredictable Super Six title race.
