AFCON 2027 Qualifiers: Max-Alain Gradel Backs Ivory Coast To Conquer ‘Tough’ Group C

Former Ivory Coast international Max-Alain Gradel has expressed confidence that the Elephants will successfully navigate a difficult-looking Group C in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ivory Coast have been drawn alongside Ghana, Somalia and The Gambia in what many observers already consider one of the most competitive groups in the qualification campaign.

“We always seem to get the tough groups,” Gradel joked.

According to the former winger, Ivory Coast remain confident despite the quality of opposition in the group.

“We believe we can conquer the group,” he implied.

Gradel acknowledged the challenge posed especially by regional rivals Ghana but insisted the Elephants possess enough experience and talent to progress successfully.

“These games will not be easy,” he noted.

The former Ivorian international also stressed the importance of approaching every qualifier with seriousness and focus.

“You must respect every opponent,” he added.

Ivory Coast continue rebuilding after recent international competitions while aiming to remain among Africa’s top football nations.

“The expectations on the Elephants are always high,” many supporters believe.

Gradel remains optimistic that the squad can rise to the challenge and secure qualification comfortably.

“The team has quality and experience,” he stressed.

The 2027 AFCON qualifiers are already generating excitement across the continent due to several high-profile groups and rivalries.

For Gradel, the message is clear.

The group may be difficult.

But Ivory Coast are ready for the challenge.

And confidence remains high inside the Elephants camp.

Because major football nations are expected to perform under pressure and deliver when qualification is on the line.
