Nigeria international Paul Onuachu finished the 2025/26 Turkish Süper Lig season as joint top scorer after sharing the Golden Boot award with Uzbekistan forward Eldor Shomurodov.
The towering Trabzonspor striker went into the final day of the season with a narrow lead in the scoring chart but failed to find the net as Trabzonspor suffered a 3-0 defeat to Gençlerbirliği.

Shomurodov, who had scored his 22nd league goal a day earlier for İstanbul Başakşehir, caught up with Onuachu at the top of the standings, leaving both forwards tied on 22 goals each at the end of the campaign.
Despite drawing level on goals, Onuachu recorded a more impressive scoring ratio, netting his 22 goals in just 29 league appearances, while Shomurodov required 34 matches to reach the same tally.
The feat marks another major achievement in the career of the Super Eagles striker, who previously dominated the Belgian Jupiler Pro League with KRC Genk during the 2020/21 season.
That year, he scored 33 league goals and swept multiple individual honours, including the Belgian Golden Shoe and Player of the Year awards.
By emerging as co-top scorer in Turkey, Onuachu also entered Trabzonspor history as one of the few players to win the club’s Golden Boot title, joining notable names such as Alexander Sørloth and Şota Arveladze.
