The initiative, which aims to empower and equip emerging coaches with professional training, reached a major highlight with the official matriculation ceremony held at the NIS.

The event brought together the selected beneficiaries, sports administrators, and well-wishers in what was widely described as a landmark moment for coaching development in Nigeria.

According to the foundation, the scholarship reflects its commitment to investing in human capital within the sports sector, particularly at the grassroots level where structured coaching education remains limited.

By providing access to formal training at one of the country’s foremost sports institutions, the programme is expected to enhance the technical capacity and long-term impact of the beneficiaries.

A total of 25 coaches were inducted during the ceremony, symbolising not just academic advancement but also the beginning of a transformative journey in their respective coaching careers.

The foundation emphasised that the initiative is rooted in the belief that empowering coaches ultimately translates to better athlete development and stronger sporting structures nationwide.

Speaking on the development, representatives of the foundation expressed pride in the selected coaches, noting that their dedication and passion for the game earned them the opportunity.

They added that the programme is designed to create a ripple effect, with beneficiaries expected to contribute meaningfully to their communities upon completion.

The matriculation ceremony also served as a moment of encouragement to all newly admitted students at the institute, reinforcing the importance of discipline, learning, and continuous growth in sports.

With this initiative, the Rasheedat Ajibade Foundation continues to position itself as a key contributor to the advancement of sports education and capacity building in Nigeria.
