Nigerian striker Akor Adams was on the scoresheet as Sevilla secured a crucial 2-1 home victory over Atletico Madrid on Matchday 31 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Adams gave Sevilla a perfect start, calmly converting from the penalty spot in the 10th minute with a right-footed finish to put the hosts ahead. His early goal set the tone in what proved to be a tightly contested encounter.
Atletico Madrid responded before halftime, as Javier Bonar headed home an equaliser following an assist from Julio Diaz, restoring parity in the closing stages of the first half.
However, Sevilla regained their advantage in first-half stoppage time. Nemanja Gudelj rose highest to head in the winner, connecting with a well-delivered assist from Ruben Vargas just two minutes into added time.
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman was introduced in the second half, adding energy to the visitors attack as they couldn’t get the rhythm in Sevilla’s defence.
Sevilla managed the game effectively in the second half, showing defensive resilience to fend off Atletico’s pressure and secure all three points.
The result lifts them to 15th position on the table with 34 points, moving the club out of the relegation zone and providing a timely boost in their fight for survival.
