Dosunmu Falls Short With Minnesota Timberwolves Against Detroit Pistons In NBA

Minnesota Timberwolves of USA’s Nigerian-born star, Ayo Dosunmu put up a gritty fight against Detroit Pistons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), but his efforts fell short in an away game for his side.

Sports247 reports that Dosunmu’s 19 points were not just good enough for the visitors from Minnesota, as Pistons’ Jalen Duran recorded 22 points with 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks in a 113-108 victory for the hosts.

In compounding all woes for Dosunmu and his pals, Daniss Jenkins, who has been the revelation of Pistons’ season, added 26 points (while hitting home both of his 3-point tries) with 5 rebounds and 8 assists.

Level with Dosunmu for Minnesota was Naz Reid, who also contributed 19 points, grabbed six boards and shot 4-for-8 on 3-pointers, but Timberwolves fell to 46-30, one game behind Houston Rockets for the West’s fifth seed spot.

Dosunmu’s team, who are 4.5 games ahead of Phoenix Suns for the West’s number six spot, tied with Pistons at 54 up until halftime, and held an 80-79 lead into the fourth quarter, as both teams traded leads four times.

Minnesota initially went ahead 87-83 on two Julius Randle free throws, then cut Detroit’s lead to 109-106 on a basket and free throw from Dosunmu with 17.6 seconds left, but Pistons later wrapped things up.

Their win margin came at the free-throw line, with two each from Jenkins and Javonte Green, though Timberwolves’ Randle led all scorers on both sides with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena.
