The physically challenged coach made the plea during an exclusive interview with Sports247 at the 3rd National Para-Games in Abuja, which he said is a very good way of encouraging people with disabilities to keep themselves busy and earn a living.

While pointing at the long history of heroics and triumphs that Kano’s para-soccer squad has garnered over the years, Ibrahim posited that they need more support from their state government.

He assured that the payers are always determined to play, and they want to make the state proud of them by winning all their matches, but stressed that they need more attention from the Kano State government.

“We came here to play with determination, and we pray to God to help us win this competition. We are happy to be here, but we want our governor in Kano State to look at para-soccer and give us better things.

“We want the government to assist the players and coaches so that our lives will be better. We want them to assist us so that those among us who are beggars will stop begging on the streets.

“They should uplift para-soccer and give it more attention so that we can enjoy it and take care of ourselves,” Ibrahim reiterated.

Sports247 reports further that the Kano State para-soccer team has a long tmhidtory of great results in national competitions in various venues across the country.

They are five-time World Polio Day Championship winners (2014-2019), National Sports Festival silver medalists in 2018 as well as two-time champions of the National Para-Soccer League (2016 and 2017).
