Wuraola Hussain’s World Rugby Selection Will Enhance Her Capacity – Tolu Oguntimehin

The media contact of Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF), Tolu Oguntimehin has hailed the selection of national coach and technical director, Wuraola Hussain as participant at a global training programme.

Sports247 reports that, while confirming that the NRFF board member will be part of this year’s Women in Rugby Careers Programme, Oguntimehin enthused that it will enhance her capacity to contribute to the game in Nigeria.

He added that Coach Wuraola’s selection by World Rugby was in recognition of her commitment to developing the sport in Nigeria and her clear career aspirations that stood out during the selection process.

The media buff also noted that Wuraola’s selection makes her part of a global network of over 250 female leaders, as the programme is designed to strengthen capacity, boost confidence and expand professional links within the sport.

Oguntimehin added in a media statement, “Hussain has played a pivotal role in promoting the sport, particularly among young girls, and has been instrumental in driving grassroots initiatives aimed at increasing participation.

“Her inclusion in the World Rugby programme is a significant milestone for women’s rugby development in Nigeria and expected to enhance her capacity to contribute meaningfully to its growth across the African continent.

“One of her recent achievements was overseeing the Rugby Rising programme, which successfully introduced the sport to 7,000 girls across the country. It contributed to empowering young females and creating new paths in the sport.”

Sports247 gathered further that Hussain will participate in seven webinars, beginning on April 8th, with sessions focused on programme introduction, personal journey and goal setting.

Subsequent sessions will cover key areas such as self-awareness and transferable skills on May 6th, effective communication and confidence building on June 3rd, and networking on July 8th..
