Omoniyi Olajide Relishes Scoring His First Goal For New Club In Poland 

Proch Pionki of Poland battling midfielder, Omoniyi Olajide has expressed utmost delight, after scoring his first goal for the club he joined at the start of this month, Sports247 reports.

It was a home game versus Drogowiec Jedlinsk in the Polish District League and, though his side settled for a 1-1 draw at home, Olajide said he derived personal satisfaction from his performance.

The product of Idowu Boys FC of Orile-Iganmu, Lagos, who also played in the lower ranks of Nigeria’s league with Team 360 before moving abroad, added that the draw was a huge reward for collective effort from everyone at his new club.

Olajide, who admires the style of former Super Eagles’ midfielder, Seyi George Olofinjana and ex-Manchester City of England ace, Yaya Toure, stated further that being able to score from his position in the middle of the pack was also a huge achievement for him.

He retorted, “I’m really pleased to have scored the equalizer for my team. Although we couldn’t secure all three points at home, it’s still a positive moment for me as a midfielder. A step forward and something to build on.”

Sports247 gathered that Omoniyi’s 35th minute goal helped draw his team level after their visitors went ahead in the fifth minute, and they settled for a 1-1 draw.

It was the amiable lad’s third match for Proch Pionki and the youngster, who has his mind set on getting an invitation to the Super Eagles, believes his goal at the weekend is a sign of better things to come for him in the East European nation.
