EPL: Nigerian Trio Inspire Fulham Comeback Win Over Burnley

Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze all featured as Fulham FC returned to winning ways with a spirited 3–1 comeback victory against Burnley FC on Matchday 31.

Fulham entered the fixture under pressure following a goalless draw with Nottingham Forest and a disappointing FA Cup Round of 5 exit to Southampton FC.

However, they responded with resilience and attacking quality to secure all three points at home.

The visitors took the lead in the 60th minute through Zian Flemming, putting Burnley in control and threatening to compound Fulham’s recent struggles.

But the hosts responded swiftly, with Joshua King restoring parity just seven minutes later to spark the comeback.

Fulham’s momentum continued as King turned provider in the 73rd minute, setting up Harry Wilson to give the home side a deserved lead.

The attacking trio, supported by the energy and balance provided by the Nigerian contingent, ensured Fulham maintained control in the latter stages.

Burnley’s hopes of a late comeback were dealt a major blow when Joshua Laurent was sent off in stoppage time (90+3’), reducing the visitors to ten men.

Fulham capitalized almost immediately, with Raúl Jiménez calmly converting from the penalty spot two minutes later to seal a convincing 3–1 victory.

The result marks an important turnaround for Fulham, who showed character to bounce back from recent setbacks and deliver a complete performance.

Attention now shifts to a tougher challenge, as Fulham prepare for an away trip to Anfield where they will face Liverpool FC, managed by Arne Slot.

With renewed confidence and momentum, the London side will hope to build on this result as the season approaches its decisive phase.
