Nigerian sprinter David Akhalu delivered an impressive performance to set the pace for his compatriots at the Black & Gold Invitational, clocking a personal best of 21.03 seconds (+0.4) to finish second in Heat 5 of the men’s 200m.

Akhalu’s run highlighted a strong start for the Nigerian contingent, as he showcased speed and composure to edge closer to top form early in the outdoor season.

In Heat 3, Ayomide Oyetunji posted a solid 21.24 seconds (+1.9) to finish third, maintaining the momentum for the team.
Meanwhile, Jude Okafor also impressed, clocking 21.34 seconds to secure second place in Heat 4.
