Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nigerians for the support he has continued to receive throughout his career, describing it as a privilege to represent the country.
Okoye acknowledged the passion of Nigerian fans, noting that their encouragement has always played a significant role in motivating him.

“It’s always a privilege to represent Nigeria,” he said.
The goalkeeper, however, clarified that he was not part of the squad that travelled to Morocco for the last AFCON, but remains fully connected to the team and its ambitions moving forward.
Reflecting on the tournament, Okoye admitted that the Super Eagles fell short of expectations by failing to reach the final, but insisted that the squad possesses enough quality to bounce back stronger.
“We have the talent to achieve more,” he added.
Looking ahead, Okoye expressed optimism about Nigeria’s chances in future competitions, particularly with another AFCON on the horizon.
“We can go all the way next time,” he stated.
He emphasized that the team is gradually building towards success and that lessons learned from past tournaments will be crucial in their quest for silverware.
Okoye concluded by reiterating his commitment to the national team, promising to continue giving his best whenever called upon, while appreciating the unwavering support from fans across the country.
