A technical meeting among coaches, officials and organisers of the 4th Governor Douye Diri National Wrestling Classics is scheduled to hold on Tuesday at the competition’s venue in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Sports247 reports that the meeting is expected to lay a proper ground for the commencement of contests in various categories of the competition, for which participants are expected to start arriving on Monday.
Towards ensuring a smooth take-off and successful completion of the competition, Bayelsa State commissioner for sports, Honourable Daniel Igali undertook an unscheduled inspection of the games village in Yenagoa.
Competitors are expected to start moving into hostel facilities provided for the competition at the staff quarters of Nigeria Customs Service, which is supporting the venture, as directed by the Comptroller General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
A day after the technical meeting on Tuesday, bouts in various weight categories are scheduled to take place from March 25th to April 1st, ahead of which Igali commended the level of work done so far.
While expressing optimism that this year’s edition will be the best wrestling classics in Nigeria, Igali also assured that over 600 wrestlers, coaches and officials expected will all have free feeding on a daily basis.
He also disclosed that there will be a lot of attractions in the games village, where he supervised the placement of new mattresses along with two board members, Lt Colonel Okou Timipre and former wrestler, Blessing Oborududu.
