Nigerian defender William Troost-Ekong scored his first goal for Al Ahli SC Doha, helping his side to a commanding 4–1 away victory over Al-Gharafa SC in the Qatar Stars League.
The hosts struck first in the 28th minute, with Yacine Brahimi converting from the penalty spot to give Al-Gharafa an early advantage.
Al Ahli responded strongly after the break, leveling the score in the 46th minute through Yazan Abdelrahman, setting the tone for a dominant second-half display.
The turning point came in the 59th minute, when Troost-Ekong rose to the occasion to score his first goal for the club, putting Al Ahli ahead and completing a swift turnaround.
With momentum firmly on their side, the visitors extended their lead late in the game. Michel Vlap converted from the penalty spot just minutes before full time, before Abdulaziz Abdelrahman added a fourth deep into stoppage time (90+6’) to cap off an emphatic victory.
The result denies Al-Gharafa the chance to climb into second place on the table, while Al Ahli continue to build momentum with an impressive away performance.
For Troost-Ekong, it marks a significant milestone as he opens his goal account for his new club, adding attacking impact to his defensive responsibilities in a memorable outing.
