The founder/president of Powerful Boys Football Academy of Kaduna, Engineer Sunday Harrison Haruna says the team is focused on building moral and academic values in their players, while also emphasizing technical development.
Sports247 gathered that the project is also designed to nurture young players in the basics of football, while promoting education, discipline and moral development of talents across under-10 to under-16 categories and a senior team.
Haruna stated this during the formal launch of the academy, a ceremony that had 300 players, sports stakeholders and invited guests in attendance, which he said was an important step toward strengthening grassroots football in the state.
The ceremony was highlighted with a presentation of the academy’s various team categories and distribution of training kits to the players, which Haruna also said marked the beginning of a long-term project to develop future football stars.
He added that Powerful Boys Football Academy aims to provide a forum for talented young players in Kaduna and beyond to grow, compete and develop their skills, with the hope of becoming internationally relevant professional footballers.
“This initiative was created to provide a structured platform where young talents can be discovered and properly developed; thereby creating opportunities for many children to begin their football journey from an early age.
“We want to build boys that are sound morally and academically. Our vision is to develop these young players to national and international standards so that they can compete and pursue opportunities on the global stage,” Haruna submitted.
