77 Teams to Benefit as Cloud Sports Elevates Lagos FA Cup Experience

The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has received a major boost ahead of the 2026 Lagos State Challenge Cup, popularly known as the Lagos FA Cup, as tournament sponsor Cloud Sports unveiled a comprehensive support package for participating teams.

Speaking during the official draw ceremony held on Tuesday at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer of Cloud Sports, Sheriff Tajudeen, outlined key benefits aimed at enhancing the competition and supporting grassroots football development.

According to Tajudeen, all 77 participating teams will receive three footballs each to aid their preparation and performance throughout the tournament.

In addition, he confirmed that all matches of the competition will be live-streamed, enabling fans across the globe to follow the action in real time.

“We have agreed to give three balls to each team during the tournament, and we have also concluded plans to live-stream all matches so fans can watch from anywhere in the world,” Tajudeen stated.

He further revealed that prize money for the competition has been increased, surpassing previous editions, as part of efforts to raise the standard and attractiveness of the Lagos FA Cup.

“Cloud Sports is committed to ensuring that this year’s Lagos FA Cup will be the best in terms of organisation and coordination,” he added.

Speaking on expectations, the Cloud Sports CEO emphasised the importance of quality organisation, fair officiating, and robust media coverage, noting the crucial role of the media in promoting football development.
He urged journalists and media practitioners to deliver comprehensive coverage that reflects the significance of the tournament.

Tajudeen reaffirmed the company’s commitment to making the 2026 edition a memorable one and called on all stakeholders to contribute meaningfully to the success of the competition.

The 2026 Lagos FA Cup is scheduled to kick off on Sunday across designated centres in Lagos State, featuring 77 teams competing in both male and female categories.

The Lagos State Football Association remains dedicated to delivering a well-organised and impactful tournament that continues to serve as a platform for talent discovery and football excellence.
