Olisa Ndah Yet to Debut for Stellenbosch FC Amid Work Permit Delay

Head coach Gavin Hunt has expressed frustration over the delay preventing Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah from making his debut for Stellenbosch FC, revealing that the player’s work permit is still pending nearly a month after submission.

Ndah, who recently joined Stellenbosch following his time at Orlando Pirates FC, is yet to feature due to administrative requirements tied to his change of employer.

Speaking on the situation, Hunt questioned the delay, but suggesting the process should be straightforward given that it is not a first-time application.

“Ndah, despite playing for Pirates last, needs a new work permit because of a change of employer.”

The experienced tactician also compared the situation with other footballing environments, where such processes are typically handled more efficiently.

“I mean, it’s just a change of employer. So it should be something quick, isn’t it? If you compare big leagues around the world, if a foreign player comes in, the work permit gets done through a particular person for all the clubs.”

Hunt did not hide his disappointment, noting that the delay has already impacted the team’s plans, with the player missing potential match involvement despite being available.

“So I think that should happen, but it’s never happened like that. So it’s a bit disappointing because he’s been in close to a month, and he should have played by now.”

The situation leaves Stellenbosch waiting on administrative clearance before integrating Ndah into matchday squads, as they hope for a swift resolution to enable the Nigerian international begin his stint with the club.
