The Sky Blue Stars claimed an important three points in a hard-fought encounter that boosted their survival hopes after a difficult campaign.

Abdallah, who took over the team just a few weeks ago, acknowledged the tense situation surrounding the club but praised his players for their determination and fighting spirit.

“I’m satisfied with the performance of the boys,” Abdallah said after the match.

“Playing at home, these three points were very necessary because there is a lot of pressure on the players with the situation we are in.”

The coach revealed that the matches against Nasarawa United and their upcoming fixture against Kwara United were always expected to be decisive in their battle to escape the drop.

“I told the players that the Nasarawa match and the Kwara match would be the most difficult games. These are the points that will motivate the team to get out of the position we are in,” he explained.

Abdallah added that while the win was important, the team still has lessons to learn moving forward.

“There are a lot of lessons from this match. We have to go back to the drawing board and see how we can improve and push further ahead,” he said.

Since taking charge, Abdallah has overseen three matches, winning two and losing one as he attempts to steer Remo Stars away from relegation danger in the NPFL.

The victory keeps the club’s survival hopes alive as they prepare for another crucial fixture in their fight to remain in the top flight.
