Director General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olopade, has praised D’Tigress for their performances so far at the ongoing FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Lyon, France, saying the team’s efforts have continued to make Nigeria proud.
Olopade commended the players for their commitment and determination throughout the competition, noting that their hard work has been clear for all to see.

“Your efforts to keep making the country proud have not gone unnoticed,” Olopade said.
He thanked the team for their displays at the tournament and assured them that the promises earlier made to the players by the presidency would soon be fulfilled.
According to him, the national honours, houses and financial rewards pledged to the team will be handed over in due course.
“The national honours, houses and money promised by the President will soon be handed over to the players,” he added.
Olopade also moved to reassure the squad over their outstanding payments, stating that their allowances would be settled in the coming days.
“Their allowances will soon be paid,” he said.
The NSC boss stressed that the country appreciates the sacrifices the team has made and remains proud of the image they continue to project for Nigerian basketball on the international stage.
D’Tigress have once again attracted praise for their fighting spirit and competitiveness against top opposition in France, further underlining their status as one of Africa’s leading basketball teams.
