The 33-year-old midfielder will wear the number 23 shirt for the club as he looks to bring his wealth of experience to the Lithuanian side.
Onazi is no stranger to football in Lithuania, having previously played for FK Žalgiris earlier in his career. His return to the Baltic nation signals a fresh opportunity to revive his playing career and contribute to Babrungas’ ambitions in the I Lyga.
The former S.S. Lazio midfielder rose to prominence during his time in Italy, where he was part of the Lazio squad that won the Coppa Italia in 2013. He also enjoyed spells in Turkey, Denmark, and Saudi Arabia during a well-traveled professional career.
At international level, Onazi earned numerous caps for Nigeria national football team, representing the country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and helping Nigeria win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
His experience and leadership are expected to be valuable assets for FK Babrungas as the club aims to strengthen its squad for the ongoing campaign.
The move also represents another step in Onazi’s journey as he continues to extend a professional career that has spanned multiple leagues across Europe and beyond.
