Olajide pointed out in a chat with Sports247 that losing 1-0 in an away game was not a bad result, but admitted he and his colleagues will have to do better in their next match, which is a home fixture that they simply have to win.
The 23-year-old fast-rising defensive midfielder, who styles his game after that of former Super Eagles’ star, Seyi George Olofinjana, added that the most exciting part of Saturday’s debut was that he was in the starting line-up and almost completed the game before he was substituted.
The product of Idowu Boys FC and Team 360, whov previously played for Chemal FC, Nouakchott Kings and Pilica Bialobrzegi FC, disclosed: “I played 85 minutes before I was subbed off, and it was because I had a yellow card.
“Our coach didn’t want me to get a red card and miss our home game this weekend, which is a must-win for us. We lost this one 1-0 away to LKS Chlebnia; that’s why we must win the next one.
“We will be playing our next game at home on Saturday against Drogowiec Jedlinsk and I believe it’s a match we will win,” said Omoniyi, who also disclosed that the presence of a Ghanaian player (Daniel Abba) in his new team has helped him settle down fast.
