Nigerian quarter-miler Chioma Nwachukwu delivered a strong performance at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, finishing 3rd in Heat 3 of the Women’s 400m with a time of 51.84 seconds.

Jerry Jakpa Eyes Outdoor Season After 200m Run

Senior sprinter Jerry Jakpa finished 2nd in Heat 1 of the Men’s 200m preliminaries at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, clocking 21.32 seconds.

Competing for West Texas A&M Buffaloes track and field, Jakpa placed 12th overall. With the indoor season now concluded, the Nigerian sprinter is shifting his focus to the outdoor campaign where he hopes to showcase his top speed.

Tobechukwu Nwokocha Claims Long Jump Silver

In the field events, Tobechukwu Nwokocha produced an excellent performance to secure the silver medal in the Men’s Long Jump at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Representing Lincoln University track and field, the junior athlete leaped 7.71m in the final, finishing second overall and earning eight valuable points for his team.

His consistent and powerful display further highlights his growing reputation as one of the standout collegiate long jumpers.
