Anthony Joshua Is Ready Physically, Mentally For Return To Boxing Ring – Eddie Hearn

Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua is set to relaunch his surge for a third conquest of the global title, as he has been declared ‘physically and mentally ready to return to the ring.’

Sports247 reports that this verdict came from Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, who is eagerly anticipating a block-buster fight for his Nigerian-born ward with British rival, Tyson Fury (The Gypsy King) later this year.

Hearn is happy to reveal that ‘AJ’ has been training at Finchley, which happens to be the London 2012 Olympic Games gold medalist’s first amateur gym, as the former two-time heavyweight champ shakes off his recent setback.

This comes about three months after Joshua survived a fatal accident near Sagamu in Ogun State, which left him mentally shattered, as the crash claimed the lives of two of his friends, Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami.

Although Joshua is still recovering psychologically, after overcoming minor injuries he sustained in the accident, Hearn insists returning fully to training would help the boxer finally overcome the loss of his friends.

Hearn told iFL TV: “We’re very close to returning to training camp. I feel like AJ is physically and perhaps mentally ready to throw himself back in to that environment, and it’s exciting.

“I mean, for everything that he’s been through and all the pain, I don’t think that will leave. But he has a career and he has a job to do in that respect, which he wants to continue doing. And I’m excited to see him back.”
