NWFL Premiership Unveils Best XI for First Stanza

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership has unveiled the Best XI for the first stanza of the 2025/2026 season, honouring the most outstanding players who delivered impressive performances during the opening phase of the campaign.

The selection was made by the league’s technical team after reviewing players’ performances across the first round of matches.

The chosen players stood out for their consistency, influence, and contributions to their respective teams.

Remo Stars Ladies produced the highest number of players in the Best XI with three representatives.

Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels followed with two players each, while Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, Robo Queens, and Abia Angels had one player apiece in the elite lineup.

In goal, Mofekha Odenna earned the nod following her solid performances between the posts.

The defensive line features Eberechukwu Fleka, Wafu Ibrahim, and Blessing Ilivieda, who were instrumental in maintaining stability at the back for their clubs.

The midfield quartet is made up of Mercy David, Sadiq Tosin, Nazifa Hephzeba, and Kindness Ifeanyi, all of whom played key roles in controlling games and creating opportunities for their teams.

Leading the attack are Atine Sceesah, Alisatu Umar, and Omamudia Anam, whose goals and attacking contributions proved decisive during the first stanza of the season.

Meanwhile, Rivers Angels head coach Tosan Blankson was named Coach of the First Stanza, in recognition of his tactical brilliance and leadership in guiding the Port Harcourt-based side through a strong opening phase of the season.

The league will now shift focus to the second stanza, with teams set to resume action on Wednesday as the race for the NWFL Premiership title intensifies.
