Ndidi: Super Eagles Still Hopeful Of 2026 World Cup Chance

Wilfred Ndidi says the Nigeria national football team have not completely given up hope of reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite their dramatic exit from the African qualifying route.

The Super Eagles captain stressed that the players remain focused on what they can control on the pitch while trusting the football authorities to handle the situation.

“To be honest, I don’t really focus on things I cannot control,” Ndidi said.

“We just concentrate on our football and prepare ourselves the best way possible.”

The midfielder also called for patience and trust in the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation as discussions and decisions surrounding Nigeria’s situation continue.

“Of course, everyone wants clarity, but we trust the Nigeria Football Federation and the authorities to handle everything properly.”

Ndidi added that the players remain committed to representing the country with pride, emphasizing their responsibility to the fans.

“As players, our job is to stay ready, stay united, and keep working hard. Nigerian fans always expect the best from us, and we respect that.”

“Whatever the outcome, we will continue to give everything for the country and make Nigeria proud.”
