Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua has slammed fellow-British boxer, Conor Benn, for dumping his promoter, Eddie Hearn, Sports247 reports.
Joshua spoke out in defence of Hearn after Benn decided to quit his boss’ promotions outfit, Matchroom Boxing (despite a decade-long relationship) and join Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing instead.

Hearn admitted he was devastated by the sudden exit of Benn, who the promoter had guided from his 2016 debut to highpoints in the roped square, while also sticking with him after he failed two drug tests in 2022.
In reaction to the development, Joshua, who happens to be a long-term Matchroom Boxing client, expressed support for Hearn and took to Instagram to state his thoughts about the situation.
The former two-time world champ shared a picture of himself and Hearn, accompanied with a short dialogue in which he said: “Did you bring the fire power Eddie? I’ll let you know when I have a clear sight of Connor Benn.”
Hearn earlier said during an interview on iFL TV after Benn’s bombshell, “Me personally, pretty devastated. I have had a few days to digest what might happen.
“It is not often you get shocked. I blame myself. I forgot it was boxing. I just felt the loyalty that we have shown would never ever put us in this position.”
