Super Eagles’ stars, Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi were both in action on Wednesday for Nottingham Forest, which they helped to pull off a shock 2-2 draw away to Manchester City in the English Premier League.
Sports247 reports that, while Aina was on from start to finish in the encounter at Etihad Stadium, Awoniyi went on as a 79th minute substitute for Igor Jesus, who got an assist on one of the visitors’ goals.

Awoniyi put up an energetic effort in attack, with great pressing effort and marking from the front, as Forest kept out their hosts, while Aina added solid defending at right back and contributed his usual darts upfront.
It was from one of Aina’s overlapping runs down the right flank that Forest got their first goal of the night, as the former Chelsea and Hull City of England full-back burst loose after 10 minutes of the second half.
Aina went down the right and crossed to the back post where Igor Jesus did well to nod back into the danger zone and Gibbs White scored with a backheel through the legs of Ruben Dias to wrong-foot Donnarumma.
The result put a dent in City’s title charge, as they dropped seven points behind table-topping Arsenal, who won 1-0 away to Brighton, with The Gunners’ Nigerian-born ace, Bukayo Saka providing the game’s only goal.
