Sports247 gathered that, with high hopes of a deal with a top club in the English Premier League looming large, the 24-year-old midfielder has snubbed several attempts by Dortmund to give him an improved deal.
However, fresh from a period in which he faced stiff criticism for alleged poor conduct, disrespectful attitude on the pitch and lack of commitment to the team, the 24-year-old Adeyemi prefers moving on.
This is in spite of the fact that he is still under contract at Signal Iduna Park until the summer of 2027, which means the lad who arrived from Red Bull Salzburg of Austria three seasons ago has a year left on his current contract.
A report by German publication, Bild revealed, “Those interested in tempting Adeyemi away from Dortmund could run up against a stumbling block, as the player’s contract is not thought to contain a release clause.
“Dortmund are said to be convinced that the player is a key part of their future plans, with updated terms having been on the table for weeks.
“Adeyemi is thought to have been coy, however, showing little interest in signing the deal while he waits for potential Premier League suitors in the summer.”
