Veteran Journalist Maxwell Kumoye Appreciates Expressions Of Sympathy Over His Wife’s Death

Veteran sports journalist and online content provider, Maxwell Kolawole Kumoye has sent a message of appreciation to all well-wishers who expressed sympathy with him over the death of his wife, Mrs Funmilayo Stella Kumoye.

Sports247 reports that the reporter, editor and broadcaster, who is now the chairman/chief executive of First Zealmediacast Limited, stated his gratitude while announcing burial plans for his late spouse.

Kumoye, who operates First Zealmediacast Blog and Sportsgroove Plus, disclosed that the obsequies will begin with a memorial service scheduled for Saturday, March 7th, which will be followed by a private interment.

He said the service will hold at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Poluyi Crescent, Ilapo Estate off AIT Station by 11am and is open to the public, but admission to the private interment is by invitation only.

Kumoye, who is also chairman media committee of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and spokesperson of Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), added that the late Mrs Funmilayo Stella Kumoye was his cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend and gist partner.

She passed just before she turned 49, following which her husband has expressed profound gratitude for the outpouring of support and condolences from Nigerians, during this difficult and challenging period the family is going through.

“I want to specifically thank everyone who has reached out since the death of my beloved love wife. I’m truly grateful for the emotional support, the calls, the visits, and the show of love and affection.

“The family has decided on a private interment strictly for close friends and relatives but the memorial service is open to all,” said the soft-spoken and highly devoted media practitioner who friends fondly call ‘Troussier.’
