Leicester City Defender Caleb Okoli Suffers Bloody Cut After Clash Of Heads

Leicester City of England defender, Caleb Okoli, was left with blood streaming down his face after getting into a clash of heads with an opponent from Middlesbrough, Sports247 reports.

The English Championship match had to be put on hold for a few minutes so Okoli could receive emergency treatment after the Nigerian-born Italian international came off worse.

Scary moments erupted on the pitch in the 36th minute of play, after the 24-year-old Okoli went hard against Middlesbrough’s Alan Browne, as they both jumped up to meet a corner kick cross.

They both ended up hitting their heads together, with Okoli coming off worse, and the referee immediately initiated the concussion protocol as both players were treated by medical staff.

Fortunately, Okoli, who opened scoring in the game, was able to carry on after treatment as medics wrapped a headband around his forehead, after receiving extended treatment from medics.

Okoli had opened the scoring for the relegation-battling visitors in the 18th minute with a well-placed header from a set piece, but, after the break, there was nothing to separate the two clubs as they played out a 1-1 draw.

Boro found an equaliser in first-half injury time through Riley McGree, before which Leicester stated on social media, “Back in play, thankfully both players are up and can continue, with Caleb’s head bandaged up.”
