The Abia Angels goalkeeper stressed that the invitation represents more than personal achievement, describing it as an opportunity to prove herself on a much bigger stage. While acknowledging the demands and expectations that come with the Super Falcons, Oloko maintained that the fundamentals of the game remain unchanged.
“The stage is higher now, but football is still football,” she explained. “You just have to stay focused, do the basics right and believe in yourself.”
Oloko also expressed gratitude to her coaches, teammates and support system, noting that their encouragement played a key role in her development. She added that training with some of the most experienced goalkeepers and players in the national team setup will further improve her confidence and understanding of the game.
“I see this as a chance to learn, grow and showcase what I can do,” she added. “Every training session is important, and I’m ready to give my best.”
Looking ahead to the double-header against Cameroon, the goalkeeper said she is fully prepared to step in whenever called upon by the coaching crew. She emphasized that competition within the squad is healthy and necessary for the team’s progress, insisting she is focused on contributing positively whether she plays or not.
“If I’m given the opportunity, I’ll take it with both hands,” Oloko concluded. “And even if not, I’ll keep working hard because this is just the beginning.”
The Super Falcons’ friendly matches against Cameroon form part of their preparations for upcoming international competitions, offering new faces like Oloko a valuable platform to stake their claim.
