Sports247 reports that Abraham, who arrived from Besiktas of Turkey last month, believes The Villans are still capable of winning the EPL title, despite Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Leeds United.
The 28-year-old played as a sub but scored in the 88th minute to give the hosts a crucial equaliser in the draw with Daniel Farke’s side, and he lavishly celebrated his second goal since his return to Villa Park.
It marked a remarkable two-goal feat in as many games for Abraham, who previously played for Villa on loan from Chelsea in 2018 and the lanky lad is relishing his return to relevance in England.
The Nigerian-born hitman, who also previously played on loan from Chelsea at Bristol Rovers then had a stint at AS Roma of Italy, is now dreaming of winning the EPL title with Villa.
Unai Emery’s Villans remain third on the EPL’s log, seven points behind table-topping Arsenal, and Abraham stressed that they will not give up the title race.
Abraham told BBC Final Score: “We’re delighted to be where we are today. We are so close. So, we have to just keep pushing and keep believing in ourselves.
“Who knows what can happen? We are not too far from Arsenal, who are at the top. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the win (on Saturday), but we just have to keep pushing.”
