NIGER DELTA GAMES: Edo State Female Wrestler Blessing Omoh Defies Her Physical Limitations

A female wrestler in Edo State’s contingent at the 2nd Niger Delta Games in Benin City, Blessing Omoh is determined to overcome her physical limitations and excel in the competition.

Omoh acknowledged in an exclusive interview with Sports247 that she does not have normal physical attributes of a wrestler, but stressed that she will not let it hamper her target of winning a gold medal.

“I love wrestling as a sport, and I always enjoy competing as a wrestler. Although my physical build looks like I can’t compete in wrestling, I am happy that I am in this sport.

“I just like wrestling, and I am happy with what I have achieved through it. Wrestling has taken me to many states, and I really love it,” Omoh declared.

The excited grappler concluded with a promise to put in the best of her efforts in order to win a gold medal at the ongoing Games in Benin City, where she hopes to make her trainers happy.

“I’ve set a target for myself of winning a gold medal in this Niger Delta Games. I want to win a gold medal here, and I promise to make my coach proud.

“I feel glad to be among the hosts’ wrestling team at this competition, and I want to do better than the bronze medal that I won at the National Sports Festival.

“I was not happy that I won bronze at the sports festival. So, this time, I want a gold medal. What I’m thinking about now is only gold, gold, and gold alone,” Omoh stressed.
