The Chief Executive Officer of Parrot Sports Group, Anthony Sunday Samuel has called for patience and long-term backing for current Super Eagles head coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, amid ongoing public scrutiny.
Speaking to Sports247Naija, the sports administrator expressed concern over what he described as Nigerians’ tendency to judge too quickly, stressing that the coach deserves time to implement his philosophy and rebuild the national team.
“My view about him is that Nigeria is too fast to judge. We should keep him around going forward. He has done well and brought fresh attraction to the team,” he said.
He praised Chelle’s calm demeanour under pressure, noting that despite intense expectations and impatience from supporters, the coach has remained composed and focused on the task ahead.
“He is so calm despite Nigerians being impatient. We need to give him a chance and allow him to build a new Super Eagles,” he added.
Chelle, who took charge of the three-time African champions amid high expectations, has faced early scrutiny as fans demand immediate results.
However, Anthony Sunday Samuel believes stability and continuity are crucial if the Super Eagles are to regain consistency and competitive edge on the continental and global stage.
The call for patience adds to the broader conversation about long-term planning and sustainable development within Nigerian football.
