A sucker punch that gave former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua victory over American social media influencer, Jake Paul, is still sending the victim to hospital for treatment.

Sports247 recalls that Paul actually drove himself to hospital and quickly went in for surgery, after he suffered a fractured jaw in his knockout loss to Joshua in USA last December.
The YouTube sensation was floored by a huge punch from Joshua smack in his face that broke his jaw in two places, and he has now been forced to go back to hospital for more treatment.
The 29-year-old Paul posted a photograph of himself on a wheelchair in hospital with his fiancée, an ongoing Winter Olympic gold medallist, Jutta Leerdam, who excelled at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games after getting engaged last year.
They are set to wed this summer, ahead of which Paul is still feeling the effects of taking on Joshua, who was a gold medalist at the London 2012 Summer Olympics and a former two-time world professional heavyweight champ.
Paul was knocked out by Joshua in Miami after six rounds and the right-hand sizzler that did the final damage became a major meme due to the American’s shocked face, as he realised his fate.
After returning to hospital on Friday, Paul stated online: “Had to get another jaw surgery. The screws and plates were coming loose because apparently I didn’t rest for the past 2 months whaattttttttt.”
