Nigerian forward Taofeek Ismaheel was among the goalscorers as Lech Poznań secured a first-leg victory over KuPS in the UEFA Europa Conference League knockout playoff round.

Lech Poznań took early control of the contest, opening the scoring in the 9th minute when Antoni Kozubal tapped home from close range following a well-weighted assist by Mikael Ishak.
The visitors’ task became even more difficult three minutes later as KuPS were reduced to ten men, with Joslyn Luyeye-Lutumba sent off for a serious foul.
The Polish side made their numerical advantage count before the break. In the 41st minute, Taofeek Ismaheel doubled Lech Poznań’s lead, finishing clinically with his right foot after another assist from Mikael Ishak.
Lech Poznań will take a healthy advantage into the second leg as they look to complete the job and secure qualification to the next round of the competition.
