Ola Aina delivered a commanding performance as Nottingham Forest cruised to a convincing first-leg victory over Fenerbahçe in their Europa League playoff tie.

The Nigerian defender was influential on both ends of the pitch, recording four interceptions and creating three chances in a dynamic display that underlined his importance to the side.
Forest opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Elliot Anderson provided the assist for Murillo, who unleashed a stunning left-footed strike from outside the box to beat the goalkeeper and give the hosts the lead.
The advantage was doubled in the 43rd minute. Morgan Gibbs-White turned provider, delivering a precise ball for Igor Jesus, who headed home from close range to put Forest firmly in control before halftime.
Shortly after the restart, the hosts struck again. In the 50th minute, Igor Jesus repaid the favour by assisting Morgan Gibbs-White, who finished confidently with his right foot to make it three and cap off a dominant team performance.
Aina’s defensive awareness and attacking support down the flank played a key role in Forest’s control of the contest, as they secured a strong advantage heading into the second leg.
With momentum on their side, Nottingham Forest will now look to finish the job and confirm their place in the next round.
