Osimhen Reveals His Biggest Dream: Be Inspiration For Kids Who Work To Survive

Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Victor Osimhen has shared his rags to riches story once again, and declared emphatically that he wants to be an inspiration for kids who have to work hard in order to survive.

Sports247 reports that Osimhen’s childhood story has been relayed severally across Nigerian football circles, but he refreshed it this week in a chat with popular British tabloid, The Sun.

The Super Eagles’ star’s story is relayed in a featured presentation by a digital sports reporter, Charlie Gordon, who noted in part, “The phrase ‘rags to riches’ doesn’t quite do justice to Victor Osimhen’s remarkable story.

“Osimhen and his six siblings lived in a one-room apartment in Olusosun – a shanty town in Lagos, Nigeria, situated next to the biggest rubbish dump in Africa. The tone was set for a tough upbringing when, as a toddler, his mum died.

“Osimhen, 27, seemingly had the whole world conspiring against him as he tried to turn his talent into a career. The £250,000 a week he now picks up at Turkish giants Galatasaray would have been incomprehensible to his childhood self.

Osimhen, who has continued racking up goals in Turkey, where he is cementing his unlikely success story and proving to hard-up youngsters that anything is possible, declared: “I want to be an inspiration for the kids who grew up like me.

“There are millions of us. Kids who have to work for their next meal. Selling water in traffic. Digging through the landfill for something to scrap. Hustling. Dreaming. Praying. By the grace of God, I made it.”
