Five Nigerian footballers are poised to feature as the UEFA Champions League enters the Knockout Phase Play-offs of the 2025/26 season, with places in the Round of 16 up for grabs.

Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray)

Ademola Lookman (Atlético Madrid)

Lookman, who helped Atalanta secure a 15th-place finish before completing a move to Atlético Madrid, continues his European quest as the Spanish side take on Club Brugge.

Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge)

Club Brugge sealed 19th place after an emphatic final league win and will face Atlético Madrid, with Onyedika expected to anchor the midfield in a demanding tie.

Bruno Onyemaechi (Olympiacos)

Olympiacos advanced after finishing 18th and will lock horns with Bayer Leverkusen for a coveted Round of 16 berth.

Nathan Tella (Bayer Leverkusen)

Tella and Leverkusen placed 16th in the league phase and are drawn against Olympiacos in what promises to be one of the most finely balanced play-offs.

George Ilenikhena (Monaco)
Ilenikhena contributed to Monaco’s 21st-place finish, setting up an all-French clash with Paris Saint-Germain. However, the youngster is currently out on loan and will not feature in the tie.
