She booked her place in the championship match after a commanding straight-sets victory over China’s Gaoying Yuan in the semi-finals, winning 21–12, 21–16.
In the final played on Saturday, February 14, 2026, the Nigerian battled bravely but fell to Japan’s Shino Kawai, settling for silver in what remains the best result of her career at the world championship level.
The podium finish marks a major milestone for Bolaji, who becomes one of the first African athletes to claim a medal at the Para-Badminton World Championship.
The achievement further underlines her growing stature on the global stage, coming on the heels of her bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics and a gold medal earlier this year at the Egypt International Championship.
Bolaji’s silver medal in Bahrain not only enhances Nigeria’s presence in para-sports but also strengthens her credentials as a leading contender ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
